Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive Riga

Upon your arrival in Riga you will be met and transferred to your hotel where you will join the rest of the group for a welcome meeting.

Day 2
Riga

After breakfast, your morning walking tour of the Old Town includes Riga Castle, the Dome Cathedral, St. Peter’s Church, the Swedish Gate, the Three Brothers, the Large and Small Guilds and the Freedom Monument. The afternoon is reserved for an optional visit to Jurmala, the vibrant Latvian sea resort, famous for its wooden architecture and sandy beaches. In the evening enjoy an optional Latvian dinner at the Restaurant Forest. (B)

Day 3
Riga – Tallinn

Today we continue our journey along the coastal highway to the Estonian summer resort of Parnu, where we will stop for a short tour of the resort before continuing through the North Estonian land of forests. We arrive into Tallinn in the early afternoon. (B)

Day 4
Tallinn

Tallinn is a charming blend of the medieval tranquility and a modern urban lifestyle. The medieval Old Town is a busy place with its array of shops, galleries, outdoor cafés and souvenir markets and its many restaurants. Our sightseeing tour will explore the old medieval city walls, the Old Town where we see Toompea Castle, the Dome Church, the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the medieval Old Town Hall. This afternoon we visit Kadriorg Park with a visit to the beautiful Kadriorg Palace. Tonight, there is an optional medieval dinner at Restaurant Maikrahv. (B)

Day 5
Tallinn – Helsinki

Today offers an optional day excursion to Lahemaa National Park, to visit the Palmse Manor, a memorial to the von Pahlen family and Sagadi Manor. The tour ends with a visit to the charming 16th Century Vihula Manor and the Vodka Museum. After lunch we head back to Tallinn to take the ferry across to Helsinki. Enjoy this refreshing tour through the Finnish archipelago before our arrival in Helsinki. (B)

Day 6
Helsinki

Helsinki is truly located at the crossroads of Western and Eastern culture and this is reflected everywhere in this green and lively Finnish capital. Our sightseeing tour takes us around the harbours, the Senate Square with the Lutheran Cathedral, up to central Mannerheim Street and close to the Parliament Building, Finlandia Hall and the Sibelius Monument before we visit the famous Church-in-the-Rock. This afternoon offers an optional excursion to Suomenlinna Fortress, a cultural treasure, constructed in the 18th Century as a sea fortress and located on an island. This fortress is a unique attraction. (B)

Day 7
Helsinki – St. Petersburg

After breakfast, we continue eastbound to St. Petersburg. Shortly after crossing the border into Russia we arrive in Vyborg, where we will take time for a short sightseeing tour and photo stop at Vyborg Castle. Our arrival into St. Petersburg will be in the late afternoon. (B)

Day 8
St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg is an amazing city and today on our morning sightseeing tour we will get acquainted with its splendours, including the eter and Paul Fortress, the Winter Palace, the Church of the Bleeding Savior, St. Isaac’s Cathedral and the Nevsky Convent. This afternoon there is an optional excursion to Zarskoye Selo with the impressive Catherine’s Palace and Amber Room. Tonight why not join an optional visit to the Nikolaevsky Palace with an exciting Russian folklore show, with Russian champagne and snacks.(B)

Day 9
St. Petersburg

This morning, our visit is to the Peterhof, an uncontested masterpiece of the time of Peter the Great, with the impressive Grand Palace, Grand Cascade and Water Avenue and its wonderful parks. In the afternoon, we will visit the world famous Hermitage Art Museum. In the evening enjoy an optional Russian dinner at Restaurant Pryanosti & Radosti. (B)

Day 10
Depart St. Petersburg

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
